Food For Thought

I was thinking about how great I feel today. Reminded me of this post.

today is one of those day when you just feel good with no particular reason with none of the events I listed in that post occurring.

So I just felt like sharing this with you. And I want to you to look around wherever you are reading this, look at the people and things that surround you. Listen. Think about all the things you enjoy in your life no matter what. There's always a reason to smile as long as we learn to enjoy the experience of life along with its ups and downs, ins and outs, rights and lefts... whatever. Don't wait on anyone or anything to make it better. Smile and be in charge. I think out positive attitude makes those around us feel better as well and we should share.

... I don't even know what exactly makes me write this right now. I should go and grab something to eat.

Don't we all just LOVE the dance moves we were taught on Fresh Prince?

Some good laughs!

Couldn't think of a title for this one. just sit back and enjoy. Watch in Fullscreen too.

From the author:

“a little animation project i started this past weekend, inspired by the wonderful music of Olafur Arnalds. the song is called Ljósið, and you can listen to it at: foundsongs.erasedtapes.com.”

On how he made it:

“i first imported the audio and set up 2 sounkeys layers, one for the piano and one for the strings. Then i worked the particles and the particle subsystem and linked things like the emission, the turbulence, the velocity, the spin amplitude and the strenght of the fields to the soundkeys outputs. Then i set up the colors with 2 different palettes, and well, after that there was a lot of trial and error in order to achieve what i was looking for. There’s a lot of randomness involved in here, so there was also a lot of luck, of course.”

Rainy Days

Hyped About This

The Uncut

(this one is all over the place it seems)

This past weekend was frustrating. I made a bad joke (via text) and felt like an idiot for letting myself send it. Like, I was hitting the send button thinking "I'm making a mistake...nooooo!" but I still sent it. Not you, G...that wasn't no joke.

Focusing on school, the 2nd test is coming up very quickly & there is so much info. I think one thing G missed about med school is the continuous focus you must have every single day! But I must say that there is a wide range of perspectives concerning performance. There are people who really are just looking to pass & those who are about being that orthopedic surgeon. I am neither. I want to do my best so that I can have as many options as possible whether it be orthopedic surgeon or OBGYN (LOL, a few girls TELL ME that this is what I will become). But I actually thinks I know what I want to go into, surprisingly I showed up to lecture to hear about another field...then I heard about this one. People have a lot of nerve to pursue certain fields that we all know require the highest grades & board scores (like Dermatology) when they struggled to get in med school & are below class average...they will learn.

Some people seem to have lost their kindness as school as moved along. You share some helpful material with them but they mysteriously don't have any for you (as opposed to a couple wks ago). Hmmm, they are going to burn bridges. I have successfully been able to avoid falling into a "click" but it has it's drawbacks. Don't really have a study partner (not sure I need one...not that I'm super smart but rather my preferred style of studying).

I had an interesting conversation with my lab partner (Stephanie in my FB pics from school) about chivalry. Is it dead or simply re-adjusting itself as the times have changed? I am not sure but I consider myself to (attempt to) be a polite person to almost some of everywhere.

My Jewish family is calling me to New York! I will think about Winter Break sometime before Thanksgiving. We will see if Igor & I can get along (easier said that done but I don't think that surprises anyone). I love you though, IYM!

To take a look ahead.....have to do a shoulder exam at the end of the week as part of my test. I haven't had the chance to practice on anyone! Looks like I will be youtubing Thurs night after anatomy.

p.s. been listening to a lot of Bob Marley & Jimi Hendrix, good stuff!
p.s. T.H.E. 2!!!!!!!!!

Song(s) of the Day

Unknown Prophets - Never feat. Slug

S-Preme - Go Hard

Bonus:

Lil' Wayne - I'm The Truth feat. Brisco

G Status

As the semester progress I notice one thing that I get more and more stuff to study, so this lead to me being on the blog less which in terms lead to certain people calling me out on the blog. Besides that the semesterhas been going great! I finished my first meaningful semester this past summer and now halfway through my second semester. One thing about medical school is that there is never a lack of information. I have come to learn that you can never learn everything perfectly for every exam. But, overall Med school is not hard it is just lots of information that you have to learn and teachers only test you on the 20% of all the information you know which get you mad. But being in a new city is cool but I do miss the WTF family and some others. This year so far has solidify my drive to be a family physician. It is a simple decision, it is a choice between being happy and making lots of money and in the Medical field the two don't always equate. I have come to learn the the kids that attend medical school aren't like Trivi and G much, most of these students have family in this already and they think that 120,000 is not a lot of money. I don't really understand that because my family has made due with under 50,000 for all of my life and we never had anything to complain about. But, I have met some great people and some great professors which is pretty fun. I have been able to go out a couple of times but I had the most fun when we went to AJ's bar which was pretty interesting and fun. This was the first time I have partied with the majority. Every song is their favorite song. But,this year has been very exciting especially since winter break should be fun wiht Igor, Travis and Rico coming down. We need to set a date so we can coordinate.

the Hidden Weekly

10.19-10.26

This week went by quickly. It was definitely a good one even though there were things that could have been better. Monday was a great day. I was a little frustrated about certain things but I figured I could channel it positively. I reached out to a lot of my friends that day. Just to let them know I was there for them. Some people might not be doing the same thing as well but that doesn't mean it should affect me. That just means I should do a better job. Even though it can be very frustrating when you don't receive the same kind of response.
I had a lot to take care of at work this week. A lot of negotiations involved. I'm doing pretty good so far. This coming week is important as we need to resolve a lot of issues as fast as possible.
My friend had a wedding which was unexpected for everyone. I found out a few weeks ago and I didn't believe him. I thought it was a joke. Everything happened so fast. But it's there decision and I'm happy for them. Anyways; I left work early, met up with my friends and we went to the wedding. We did a lot of driving after they signed all the papers, we went to a church in a nearby city. My friends and I were being silly. We couldn't stop laughing. we had to get out of the church because of this remark that my friend made and made me laugh. I took a few pictures with my cell phone as I didn't have a camera on me.

this is right outside the church. I loved the color of these flowers.

This is the view from another old church (jvari) that we just visited on our way. The wedding was across the river in svetitskhoveli.
These two pictures are from my friends camera. This is the best wedding car I've ever seen. It's my friend's car. He drove it himself with his wife next to him. No limo, no nothing.

my friend and I enjoying the view.

That was the main event this week.
On Friday I saw Salome after maybe a month or so. Me, her and our friend went to a cafe for a while, then just drove around the city fast forwarding the music most of the time. I didn't like the playlist. Too many oldies.
Yesterday was a slow day. I had plans made but that didn't work out so I stayed in and watched a movie.
We had a meeting with a Lion's Club member from Denmark. We took him for a walk around the old part of the city. The weather is amazing today. Then we had a meeting with other members of the organization. My friend and I decided to go to this concert today. I'll post this now and then I gotta meet up with her down the street. We'll be joined but a few friends and the day will have a great ending as well.

Movies That I Watched This Week

Moon

Well, actually I didn't watch it. It was boring in the beginning. Too boring for me to continue watching it. So I can't really tell you anything about it.

Paranormal Activity

now, this was the shit. Done in a Blair Witch and Cloverfield style. This couples encounters something at their house. They think it's a demon and they start filming everything. It is very intense. I like movies like this. and it's done realistically I think. There's no monster running around. just sounds and movements. I recommend this one. You'll either love it or hate it. No in between.

Free Flowin Fridayz (Week 30)

First of all, if you haven't done so already please take a break from whatever your doing and chack out my new weekly "Takin it back..."

WOW. 30 weeks? That is a lot of weeks, a lot of time...in which a lot of some stuff and a lot of nothing has happened. But first let us laugh together:

OK so now to get down to some serious Free Flow.
Living back at home is soo much more stressful than I had bargained for. I'd forgotten about how bad the fighting can be. Whether this be petty arguments between the parents or excessive teen and little kid drama...I have had my blood pressure/pulse skyrocket a lot lately and I usually run a pretty low BP and average pulse. *sigh*

You know how we all have aspirations, goals and dreams? Well sometimes it is best not to get so attached to something that when you don't get there or it doesn't happen you aren't crushed. That usually works for me. But when you find something that really excites you and you really want, it takes some real self-control to bring yourself down from level of optimist to realist. Getting too attached to anything (person, place, thing, situation) is not really too healthy, but it takes serious discipline to distance yourself from something enough that disappointment won't hurt, but not so much that you are completely incapable of emotion.

Takin it back...

to the early 1990s.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired from
Sept 10, 1990- May 20, 1996.

It is without a doubt one of my most beloved shows and one that
NEVER EVER fails to make me laugh!

Today will be a Carlton tribute

Jared Evan – Frozen VS Tzameti 13

this first video is directed by Ric Cordero for Jared Evans. The song is good but the video is undeniably great. the thing is... the entire scene is taken from this movie Tzameti 13. Tzameti means 13 in Georgian.

watch the trailer below.

"13 Tzameti is a 2005 film written and directed by Georgian filmmaker Géla Babluani. Tzameti is the Georgian word for thirteen. 13 Tzameti is the feature length directorial debut for Babluani. It also marks the acting debut of his younger brother Georges Babluani, who plays the film's protagonist Sébastien.

A destitute immigrant worker steals an envelope containing instructions for a mysterious job that could pay out a fortune. Following the instructions, the young man unwittingly becomes trapped in a dark and dangerous situation." - Wiki

the Uncut

So I have to keep these post interesting b/c I have another Tuesday post series that might steal the attention of the blog!

This past week felt like I was always behind. I dissected the hand and was like "I don't know what I'm looking at...see you all tomorrow". I had to learn a lot of nerves & arteries (the hard part is learning the branching that occurs as well as the paths they follow from the brachial plexus down through the arm).

The weekend was all about family. On Friday, I posted something on my sister's wall that made our cousin cry (happy tears). I basically said that I wanted to be like my Uncle (huge influence on me although he died when I was like 8). My comment made my cousin cry, he was her father. He treated me like a son & he was definitely a father figure for me. My family sent me some pre-Thanksgiving samples (mac & cheese + sweet potato pie which is MY FAVORITE) so I been eating like I was back home. It feels good to get these things...actually, feels great.

I want to write a book. There are a few books written by doctors about their med school experiences, maybe I could do one? This is definitely a project for down the road but definitely a present idea. I am down to about 35+ friend requests on FB...when I get time, it is time to delete some FB friends. Why not? It is always interesting to see if they ever notice.

Anyone who gets the chance to talk or chat with Yaz needs to ask her the following question: What have you learned today? If she can't go for 5 minutes, then she hasn't been working hard enough!

ICanReadintheWind

Time for another one.

I'm taking a break from work and looking at these pictures and quotes. I can relate.

“ A friend can tell you things you don’t want to tell yourself.

“ Don’t ever break for someone, who would never bend for you.

Sometimes we don't know if we're getting better or just used to the pain.

the Hidden Weekly

10.11-10.18

This is week definitely had its ups and downs. I've been affected by both but in a good way. My friend brought me back on track which I'm happy about.

I got to talk with Geden, Igor and Nevena on skype which was really cool. good to talk to you.

Sunday was a slow day. Sitting at home and checking email was all I did during the day. Then I decided to go to the movies. The movie we watched (see the Movies that I Watched part) wasn't really my kind of movie but it was alright plus I had a great company so I'm definitely not complaining. It was fun.

Things are getting busier and busier at work and I'm caught in the middle of it. We have huge issues with finalizing some documents for the apartments we have for sale so I have to take care of that plus deal with a few customers that complain everyday. It gets stressful sometimes but I'm handling it well.

I called up my school to ask about the graduation; when do we get our gowns? when should we get there? etc... and it turned out I wasn't on the list of attendants even thought I had paid for everything and all. They just couldn't let me go without one last problem. I was pissed off but it wasn't unexpected at all. Anyways... that got resolved... I got the gown and the diploma... which brings us to the graduation. It was a great day but the ceremony was very tiring. We had to get there 3 hours earlier(!!!) but it was definitely worth it... after that we went to party. The night was crazy. We had a great time. here's a little clip... you've seen everything else on FB. I didn't take any pictures.

On Thursday people from one the business TV shows came to film something for their upcoming program. We were having a meeting and the receptionist came in carrying a little box with a ringing phone in it. My boss picked it up and got a business offer and then he talked aobut our projects, bla-bla-bla. It was fun though. Later that day I saw my friend. We hung out down the street and then he left. I didn't want to go back home so I called up my friends who live nearby. I ended up seeing two of them, we went for a walk and then to this cafe we like. well, I saw more of my friends but we ran into each other. I guess that's what we do now. I'm a little disappointed there so I'm not gonna get into it.

Yesterday I went to Tskneti. The weather was amazing, it felt really good. I took random pictures. I tried to upload them but it keeps giving me errors. I don't know why but it also deleted stuff before I posted. I retyped most of the post. So Just check FB for those pictures.

Movies That I Watched This Week:

Coco Avant Chanel

This is what I watched at the movies. It was well done. Tells her story before she became famous. I'm very indifferent to this movie. Nothing exciting or interesting for me but it was watchable.

Suroggates

Now this was entertaining. I liked the idea for this movie. The way people lived with their surrogates experiencing everything instead of them and being able to look and act however the wanted to while hiding in their bedrooms... was interesting. The movies has a twist to it, it's interesting as the story unfolds but I actually expected more. The effects are there, the plot is good, the idea is good but maybe there's something about the performance that I didn't really like.

shout out to Nevena who I was talking to as I prepared this post. Hope the weather changes for the better soon

Song of the Moment

"It feels so wrong, does it feel so right? But its alright, it’s okay with me.
I’ll do my steps all by myself, I don’t need nobody to play with me,
But if you just give me a chance, I can put you in a trance the way I dance .
But don’t nobody wanna play with me so I’m taking my ball and going home"

Free Flowin Fridayz (Week 29)

Has anyone else but me realized how old we are? Like really, it is soo weird. My little brother was telling me about how this kid at school has these shorts/pants with drawstrings on them (where you press the button and pull the plastic thing to tighten the shorts). He says this kid took that string, hitched up his shorts/pants and put it up around his head and pretended like he had suspenders on. I immediately laughed and said "oh yeah like Steve Urkel!" My mom laughed, my brother and sister just stared. I said "oh...you have no idea who he is...." WHAT A SHAME!!! So in order for us to not forget the wonderful shows and cartoons of the late 1980s and through the 1990s (you know when the wholesome cartoons and sitcoms were on with valuable morals and lessons learned), well I will start randomly posting clips of things I thought were memorable. Maybe call it "Take it back..." or hmm "Takin it back..." Which sounds better or you have a title idea for me? Or or maybe how about "Take it back Tuesdayz"?.....

So keep an eye out for some classic memories :)

Here is the first (everyone should vote on the winner of the dance-off!!!)
The first video is the full version of both dances and the second is a cool remix :) Check em out!

the Uncut

This past week was full of up & downs (especially this weekend). I spent 7 hrs in the anatomy lab on Thursday. What is funny is that my group was the fastest dissectors! My 2 group members and I were very effective and communicated well throughout the dissection but it still takes time. Then, I chose to not pass up on a review given by a 3rd yr who is like an anatomy genius. Put the two together and I totaled 7 hrs in lab (which is very well air conditioned). Oh, and we have our 1st anatomy practical on my birthday...I am so excited :-/

What else? So this weekend was full of learning the muscle of the forearm (poster & anterior) while being distracted by...outside influences. It motivated me to write a little be...but I should have used the time to study. No worries, I'm back on it today (the studying part, the "influences" still linger).

You ever get angry and that anger fuels even more anger? I think I had that happen. We have learned in school how high blood pressure is a "silent killer" meaning it as no obvious effect until one day it causes you to have a heart attack. Well, in my situation, little things stacked up and were the cause for a TM outrage....okay, maybe not outrage, but the blood was pumping. It sucks to want to hurt someone that you like/care about but you have a piece of your mind saying "you owe it to them". I guess that makes me a bad person, more things for me to work on.

I miss good food. If our microwave broke, I would suffer from Kwashiokor (look it up). I need to convince someone to send one of those "care packages" :-)

I been tapping on Trieze's shoulder little by little and hopefully he will turn around and offer some lyrical therapy for the blog followers.

I saw this movie the other week after my test...it was pretty funny
