the Hidden Weekly
Week 38
I got home at midnight this Sunday so I just went straight to bed planning to post on Monday. On Monday I ended up making a Windy post and completely forgot the weekly wasn't done yet. I realized this last night. Anyways... Here's the Hidden Weekly on Tuesday.
Last week started with climbing... yeah, we reached a new level of connection and the view from up here is amazing. That made me feel really good for the whole week. Things at work go at the same pace, got a lot to do at times while I also have some free time like right now. School might get tough on me this semester. This group project we have to do is important and will take a lot to complete. The good part is that we already have an idea and data for it. The professor for that class is a mean asshole. I mean in a funny and offensive way... comedy. He makes all those sarcastic jokes and makes fun of our comments too (not something teacher should be doing) but he's funny as hell. My schedule is very inconvinient too. I don't get home till 9:30-10:00pm except for Monday and Thursday... and I got class on Saturday. If that's what it takes to graduate... so be it.
Salome went to Italy for 2 months and we had a little surprise party for her to say goodbye. It was a good night.
I worked on some songs this weekend. I redid my verses and tried to be more expressive with my voice. I think I'm on the right track.
On Sunday I had a class (instead of Saturday) during which I texted Data and my friend and asked them if they wanted to hang out in Tskneti. I din't want to go alone. So we went there, enjoyed the fresh air, got to act silly and childish then ended up at my friends house back in Tbilisi. Then it hit me... I stopped talking, I hardly smiled...
...I had writer's block for the whole week. I finally started to write on Sunday and hopefully I'll be in full force this week and complete some stuff. Gotta work around my schedule. The thing is my head is full of too many thoughts, I can't concentrate. Plus I might just get stuck on one issue and not think about anything else. I've been thinking and I think I haven't fully recovered since Gvanta's passing. Sometimes those events pop up in my head and I have to go thought it again. my mood swings too much. I might be in a great mood at the moment but I might get sad the next minute. As in; I talk a lot, make comments and jokes and then I get silent, being unable to crack a smile. I don't really like being this way. It makes me feel alienated from everyone... I'm normally fine with being out of this world but right now that means being in the dark place. There's another thing (or person) that I constantly think about but I don't want to get into that right now... not on the blog.
That it for this week. Hopefully my head doesn't explode or anything.

Treize and Truth Vol. 7
BET AWARDS AND MIKE JACKSON*****
My thoughts on MJ's Passing and the BET Awards--First off Michael, rest in peace. What a remarkable performer--the man revolutionized music, dancing, entertaining, just being a creative artist with his amazing genius writing and performing songs. As an African American, he transcended color and became an American Icon. Though his life was tragic in the media's treatment of him as "Wacko J
acko", his behavior came as a result of psychological and physical abuse at the hands of his father. Michael at 50 had spent 40 years of his life headlining, entertaining and being anything but a normal child, doing the things children sometimes need to do to develop. Not only were the Jackson 5 at their peak, Joe Jackson did everything to ensure it would stay that way, even beating Michael.Michael Jackson went on to become a great musical talent but, in the words of psychologists who evaluated him in the wake of his 2005 trial for child molestation, his mind had regressed to that of a ten year old. All the while Sony and the media did everything they could to hurt Michael and take advantage of him. Sony rigged his contract, Martin Basheer totally screwed him in a British interview--Michael was alienated. Thanks to his talent however, he developed a strong relationship with fans and always gave his all to please them.
This is particularly why my opinions of the BET awards are mixed at best. It seems many our age have given up on BET and don't watch it--as expected with college students and recent alumni--but the fact is BET was expected to deliver one of the earliest tributes as a significant venue and awards program. It was definitely a star studded event. Even Joe Jackson himself was in the audience. But it seemed everything was in disarray. The teleprompter was apparently useless, some the stars (Ving Rhames and Tyrese) had the nerve to act like fools on stage and took a good Baby Boy reference that could have saved that portion too far. Lil Wayne, though I love him (no homo), performed one of the most vulgar songs he could have--Every girl. Drake had a bad ankle and was confined to a chair the whole time. Beyonce and Jay-Z prevented Letoya Luckett and Chris Brown from performing respectively and Keri Hilson bombed her performance. One of the Ojays, Eddie Levert slipped a "shit" on a live broadcast and Jamie Foxx and Neyo seemed to be every other performance. Jamie himself, struggled to keep the crowd involved. There were other hot spots but you get the point. Near the end of the program, Janet Jackson, in a remarkable feat of courage and display of honor, came out and addressed Michael's fans, thanking them for all their support. It saved the show in my opinion.....oh and Beyonce sang Maria (grrrrrrr-I just wanna....)
I got a lot of good feedback on my Facebook status after the show:
Janet made it all worth it....and looking at this mess tonight, I see why Mike was like eff everybody. I hope now people see what separated MJ and Janet from everybody else in entertainment...They were consummate professionals and wouldn't touch the stage, unless they were prepared to give it their very being.
And that pretty much sums it up for me....*********RANDOM THOUGHT--MUSICAL MATURATION***************************
As you may have noticed, the blog has been active with musical inspiration, particularly in the form of rap. It really excites me that there is so much creative zeal on the blog. Not only have I improved with my ability to express myself, but so have the other guys--in particular, TRIVI's gotta really hot track--he really went hard and was just TRIVI in the song--if he hasn't already posted it, I'm gonna ask him to release it.
I'm done officially with school so I can get back to the lab. I do have a job interview with the GA Public Interest Group doing non profit work, so wish me luck. I hope they google me-lol-it'll help. I would.....But yeah, I'm trying to do the stuff I love like music while still getting rent paid. DO YOU people. You can ask TRIVI I always find time to keep my spirits high ; )

Murs - Varsity Blues EP/Song of the Day
Song of the day is from the EP below. I want to post it as a seperate link as well even though it is included in the download.
Murs - A Friend's Blues <--download
I just finished listening to this. Great stuff, Murs at his best. As he puts it; his personal therapy EP. I loved it. Enjoy!
Guilty POPleasure
I turned on the TV and this are the videos I watched until I turned it off.
I had fun though, I found it very entertaining. You just gotta be careful. If you listen for too long there is no coming back. POP is dangerous.
Free Flowin Fridayz (Week 13)
What do you do when those who once supported you start to not be so supportive or begin to have their doubts? Or at least that is how it seems to you....? Say it's your friend. How do you feel? How about if it's your parents? How do you feel?
Patience-they say it's a virtue. I like to pride myself on the amount of patience I have with people and events in general, but sometimes the waiting game is rough, real rough and it sucks. I can deal with waiting on people (for instance to change their actions) much better than I can deal with waiting to find out decisions (of schools or getting a job for instance).
I haven't talked to a particular friend for 2 nights and I am feeling withdrawal....is that bad??
Or it could just be because there is something I want to tell/talk with this person about and haven't had a chance to yet. Sttraaange feeling.
READING a book for pleasure is the best feeling in the world to me. I LOOOVE reading fantasy/adventure novels because it allows me to escape the stresses of this world and lets me into a completely different..magical world. I finally finished a book called "Brisingr" which is book 3 of a series and it was a great. I am now starting book one of a trilogy that looks pretty cool. Trilogy is called The Bronze Canticles and Book 1 is called "Mystic Warrior". Can't wait to get farther into it :)
Another question for you to ponder(this is the 3rd or 4th I guess): Say you can only rest easy knowing what you will be doing with life in the immediate future and right now you are clueless and it is stressing you out ESPECIALLY whenever your parents mention it. Now how would you feel every time people (parents and others) tried to tell you to RELAX..and they keep trying to do this although you tell them that it is impossible for you to relax and them telling you to relax only stresses you out more???

Since my internet at home makes it miserable to upload videos...here are some pics of events happening this Summer in June. (ie.- going to see Corteo [a Cirque du Soleil performance] graduation party my mom threw for me amid our Egyptian friends and then my birthday at Outback)
It was a joint Mother's day/Graduation present from the family to us.

T.Jake's Maxx
It is hard to hear. Hiding behind register, done my work, others are still working slow and they are not Russian, and waiting for the managers meeting....hmmmm? [I am sleepy so I am talking little bit random.]

My Tip jar got busted, looks like I am going to be hungry tonight.

But I found a substitution! I will not be hungry tonight. I will be lil' hungry tonight.

i-285 Sky looked good, don't know abut the picture, but why not post.
While trying to fix it earlier, operation gone wrong it started smoking a lil from pores. This amp got baked.
Operating in my scrubs....
No damage was observed. Getting a feeling somebody at a certain place didn't get the wiring done right...Going back tommorow, that's a plan I have to get done before 2 or after 4.

TREIZE & TRUTH VOL. 6

So it's been a minute--I know, but don't worry, keep reading and there's a surprise in store for ya. So right now I'm in the midst of maybe one of the most stressful periods I've had this summer. I have two finals, two papers and just got done with a 20+ page statistical report so needless to say I'm a little peaved.
Anywho, on to more positive things--there has been a lotta creative blood flowing and I'm not gonna lie I got an unexpected source of inspiration from two separate sources.
1. Sooo the beat challenge. Tried to scrunch my way through it, putting out sub par material. Not so much in that I didn't try, but it was more a result of my eagerness to enter the competition before it was too late. So I put out my "illest" track with one focus unfortunately. Sound. Now listen to me because we're about to get into some good stuff if music's your thing. There are several things that go into a good track--the most important things being musicality (sound, flow), lyricism (the substance in your rhymes, clever punches, good stories, etc) and in some cases marketability (catchy tunes, easy to follow, appeals to a mainstream demographic). There are more, but it's my belief these are the essentials.
Mainstream media, at least in the musical arena, desensitizes many to the more literary and substantial elements of music and rap. Lyricism gives way to high end production for musicality and an image for the masses, a "marketable" message. The controversy surrounding issues like why Common or Mos Def, who are obviously better artists than maybe soulja boy (I actually like the guy, but he's an obvious foil here) don't sell nearly as many records. Well first, what makes Common and Mos Def better in the first place? They have a substantial amount of lyricism, basing their rhymes on reality, teaching, themes and larger ideas. They follow literary trends in the shaping and structure of their music, causing it to best represent a fusion of music and poetry. The sound, most times is good, but typically underground and "true" hip hop beats fail to make up for the lack of marketablility present in the artists. They define themselves by sticking to the original roots of hip hop, that is counter culture delivery and a concern for what comes from their mouths. For this reason, they are less likely to appeal to an uneducated mass whose priorities are sex, mayhem and the reinforcing of negative stereotypes. All mainstream music isn't bad and all "true" hip hop artists aren't good. The fact is I produced a relatively mainstream track that when put under a microscope and analyzed for its true quality, won't hold up against tracks that "speak" to people and reflects substantial thinking and effort. This is why I (and apparently a lot of you) felt Meadsazanck deserved the title. He wrote better, gave you something to think about, not just listen to. This was inspiration no. 1
2) Reading Queen and everyone else's comments basically showed me that the standards by which I make music must be defined by a true feel for the world around me. I have to actually produce memorable material. All the more clear was this fact when I looked at the best lines in Queen's opinions. Quite frankly, I was in last place.
So I hit the proverbial booth, lit a fat one and decided to really just spit what the hell I was thinking, regardless of what type of shit I think people wanna hear. I didn't necessarily want to write about some deep, depressing topic, but I did want to tell a story and make a point. So the experiment began with a beat I picked for my (shameless plug coming up) solo album (A beat ironically picked for its ease of use with the autotune Tpain effect) and I went back to tha dirty southern style of rap that I grew up on and did when I was a kid. To give you an idea, think Pastor Troy, Master P. I'm an english major, so I knew I could add some good lyrics to the mix and after a few minutes of just doing TREIZE, I came up with what I consider to be one of my favorite tracks. It's definitely going to be a track on the upcoming SC APPROVED mixtape and my solo album. Oh the surprise! Almost forgot, here's an exclusive preview of the fruits of my labor.

WTP video conference
This is another edition of WTP video conference. T.R.I.V.I. and I had to discuss a lot of things but felt like sharing some with everybody. This is the part of our conversation that is available to the public.
It was fun to get to talk again and update eachother on things.
After the videos got done Rico posted his track which came out great. Rho gave me some feedback and most importantly she's already done what I asked her to do. Time will come and you will know what I mean. We are not sharing right now.

Atmosphere - Sad Clown, Bad Summer #9
the Hidden Weekly

Week 37
I'm getting very comfortable at work which definitely is a good thing. Some times it gets crazy busy and sometimes I don't have to do so I browse the web. That's all in the same day. I hope the times when I hated being at work won't come back.
Classes started this week. My last semester. I have two classes to take. The funny thing is that on of the classes was something we had already taken but with another name. I don't know how they managed to do that but now the class has been switched to another one. I have to make a group project worth 70% of the grade now. That sucks. I'd rather take the same class twice (professor or the administration would never now) than do this. Although I understand this is the right thing. I had a class today and we were discussing all these issues. Well at least I'm graduating so I'll manage to survive this summer. My grades were no lower than A- minus this spring semester which is great considering the fact that I barely studied for anything.
The WTP video conference took place on Wednesday. I'm going to post that, I still need to put up the second video. It was too long for Youtube. I was uploading a lot yesterday.
Sunday: I had a class, then went to the park with my friends. It was fun. different from just sitting at home which is what I did for past several weekends. I guess I wasn't in the right mood to hang out with people. Then later, after I got home my friend called me up so I went over to her house where there was a little party. It was a good day overall.
A lot is on my mind though. I've acted a little incosiderate earlier this week.
Just a picture from Sunday

WTP Highlight

Ahhh, the PCAT is so soon lol....but I had to blog one more time about something crazy that happened tonight. Soooo a few months ago I went to QT (a gas station) and I had to show my ID. There was a lady there who is around my age who thought the ID was fake, so Rico commenced to inform her that I had lost a lot of weight which is why I looked different. The girl and I ended up having a conversation about how I lost the weight and how she wanted to lose weight but hadn't been able to and she asked me how I did it. I basically told her that the biggest key is the gym and I told her about my eating habits and so on and so forth. Then I left and that was it....
Now for the crazy part...
