the Hidden Daily

I talked to Travis for a bit yesterday. I got him. He got me. it's always good to share a few words in a live chat.
My friend came over and we watched NY, I Love You. It was lame. I dind't like it except for a few scenes that were somewhat funny.
My friend and I are obsessed with Avatar. We turned our pictures into Avatar characters. She found a guide to learn the language from the movie. I now know a few words... too lazy to study all that though :).
I had a good sleep.
Woke up in a great mood. Stayed at home for a while, watched some videos and browsed a lot of pictures. Posted here as well as FB.
I went to see my mom and now I'm back.
I'm not doing anything interesting tonight. I'm about to watch a video in 20 seconds. I'll watch a movie later... possibly with my friends if they do come over.
I also need to get some bread.
That's it for Today.

P.S. We Can Always Be Better. I don't think we should ever be like: "this is it"...
There's always room for improvement. We should be forever evolving, moving forward, climbing up.

I actually bought the original "Out of My Mind" album a few yrs back by the Neptunes front man. Some good tracks and some not. This might be worth a listen. The album had good beats and with ?uestlove adding some assistance, it might make for some good remixes. I'm going to listen when I get the chance, so should you.

The Rules of Realist Thought

The beauty of realism is seeing things for what they truly are. Another cool thing about it is it allows you to give equal credence to fleeting emotions and the reality of the circumstances around you. Realists don't place their hopes in the impractical (idealists), nor are they ignorant enough to believe they have no control over their own world (pessimistic victims). Bad things really do happen...alot...so no optimistic illusions, and as for cynics? Well most of them are right. With that said, my type of "realist" thought provides ample views for all points on the spectrum, but with the ever present awareness that there are exceptions to every rule, solutions to every unanswerable question and a probability for any real event. Like any philosophy, it is one to be constantly modified and adapted to personal experience. That modification process could also be considered an application, since it takes place through self evaluation and a cataloging of possible solutions, along with their probabilities, usually mentally or .....as is the case with me.....through any and everything that I write.

now ON TO THE NEXT ONE.......................
....

As a realist, I have to operate with certain foundational principles

RESPECT THE EFFING MAJORITY, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU HATE IT

Under a given set of circumstances, one of the more simple indicators of what will happen at any given moment is what happens the majority of the time. As I previously stated, there are exceptions to every rule and the majority in no way is always correct. But what is REAL is that majority probabilities dictate likely events. Thus an understanding of how things work most times is invaluable to the realist. That includes how people think and work as well.

EMOTIONS ARE ACTUAL AND THUS SHOULD BE ACKNOWLEDGED FOR EVALUATION--HOWEVER, THEY ARE ABSTRACT--THAT MEANS THEY CAN BE DISMISSED THROUGH WILLPOWER AND PRACTICE

One of the advantages to realism is the positive effect it can have on personal resiliency. For the most part, our initial reactions to problems are emotional. We get mad, sad, confused or bitter about some things. Other times we can be exceptionally happy, hopeful or motivated. Bottom line is most emotional decisions are bad ones. so when I face a problem these days, I have my moments, but then it's time to focus on the situation at hand and what can be done to fix it.

However, realists know that although reacting emotionally or dwelling in emotions is dangerous, those reactions are indicators of our person, and thus should be recognized, cataloged and interpreted later objectively.

THE REALIST APPROACH VALUES SOLUTIONS THAT ACCOUNT FOR WHAT'S REAL--DUH.....THE SOLUTIONS TO MY PROBLEMS RARELY, IF EVER ARE IDEAL....BUT THEY REFLECT THE REALITIES OF MY CURRENT PERSPECTIVE AND ANY GIVEN SITUATION

Here's where I bump heads with a lot of people, but it really doesn't matter. Once I evaluate a situation and have, what I believe at least, to be a pretty accurate understanding of the probabilities, I craft solutions that account for four things mainly:

  • my willingness and ability to do something in the short term

  • my ethics, personal beliefs and convictions

  • the likelihood of reaching my long term goal, given I follow through on the short term aspects of my solution

  • when other people are involved--their most likely action/response in a given situation

  • After this filtration of sorts, the solutions/actualities aren't always ideal (especially that last one) nor might they support any conventional stream of thought, but it doesn't matter. My goal is to come up with solutions/conclusions that account for these factors and any others that may prove relevant. I do this in the way most appropriate to MY understanding of a situation.

Another thing: probabilities are indeed assumptions and can lead to conclusions interpreted as generalizations.....No f*cking sh*t sherlock!!! Generalizations are the way of the world, our personal shortcuts. The difference is a realist recognizes the possibility of anomalies, exceptions and just flat out being wrong. So we always maintain an open mind. However, those assumptions can be good things

    Exhibit A

People are fickle and emotional in most situations. It's upon that premise that most times, I choose to maintain personal independence....Realists travel their own path, think their own thoughts and respect everything on the outside inasmuch it gives them perspective from which to draw.

WHAT'S DONE IN THE SHORT RUN, DETERMINES THE LONG RUN---SO PROGRESS MEANS TAKING STEPS

Understand this---the way to affect the long term probabilities in your life is by making the smaller, short term decisions. In most cases (some people get lucky...or unlucky), a specific set of actions will create a desired result. The possible combinations of those actions are limitless, and some might not even be necessary given some other factor, but it is the responsibility of the realist to get their probabilities (and subsequently priorities) in order.

    the Hidden Daily

Yesterday was a really good day. Things were crazy at work the first half of the day, I was asked to do too much in too little time... fortunately it didn't get to me telling them that the right thing would be to postpone everything until Monday/Tuesday. The info i collected was enough for them to make that conclusion. So the second half of the day at work was more chill. I had to take care of a few things like fix a broken locks and get new keys. That was it.
Then I went home for a bit, got ready to go out and went to a Vera Steak House. There was a networking event of exchange program alumni. It was really good. A lot of new faces this time. Had a few interesting and funny conversations. Sipped some Jack Daniels. The food was alright, I expected a lot more. Then my friend and I took a walk before she left and I went to the Movies with other friends. She had an exam tis morning and I'm sure she handled it :).
Now for my other friends; Mostly same people from the party pictures on FB. As for Avatar; I loved it, it is beautiful. I wished there was even more action there but it was still amazing. 3D made it even better. I was excited and loud during several scenes... most of the people there were just... watching. Screw that; I was into it... no, I was OWT. I'm thinking about watching it again.
Then we went to a cafe near were I live, I haven't been there though. It's a 24/7 place, it was really nice. We just talked for a bit and then I went home. I got there at 4am. I turned the computer on and then I realized it was not the best idea... so I went to bed.
Had a hard time getting up and going to work today but I managed. I got home an hour ago. Ready to have a diner with mom.
Not sure what's gonna happen this evening. We'll see.

    Free Flowin Fridayz (Week 44)

I am ON TIME with this post! Finally :)

    Consider the following scenario:

It is winter 2006 and you just had a falling out with a friend. They lied a really bad lie to you, lied some more and did stupid stuff to try and cover for their lie. After things simmered down a bit you made it clear to the other person that the doors were open for them to rebuild the friendship they ruined they only had to find the correct key and right their wrongs. The other person proceeded to apologize for his/her mistakes and things slowly got better. You went from a non-talking relationship to talking a bit more. The tension between the two parties began to ease and over the next few years you maintained contact to check up on each other to see how things were going-like friends usually do.

Fast-forward to the present, Jan 2010.
This friend sends you a very random message apologizing for the situation that occurred a few years back and how he/she still regrets how the situation was handled and is humbled that through it all you are still a friend.
You reply to them and say something along the lines of "As long as I've had some kind of positive influence on the lives of those people I have interacted with then I am, for the most part, rather content."
They proceed to apologize yet again about how they hurt you and how if they had been more mature things would not have played out the way they did.
You tell them that "[they] didn't exactly handle the situation with finesse and that any conflict leaves scars, but both of us have grown up and learned from that experience. The experience may have left a wound, and wounds heal, but it left a scar. Without scars, how can we learn not to repeat stupid things we do in life?"
They once again express their regret for having ever scarred you in the first place by lying and handling this old situation in such a bad/immature way.
You tell them "It is what it is...the scar will probably never go away, but scars fade with time and you learn from every scar you get. Every scar just serves as a reminder for you to not repeat old mistakes and as a symbol for lessons you've had to learn the hard way."

    1. What do you make of this situation?

    2. Of the characters (the one who is apologizing/the one who is on the receiving end of the apologies)?

    3. What would you do in a situation where you were lied to, hurt, or otherwise had a really huge falling out/argument with a friend where people would tell you "it's not worth it" "why are you still maintaining a friendship with that [insert profane adjective here]?"
    {and lets say this friend you've only known for 6 months, but were growing close to and considered them a "good friend"}

Just some food for thought :)

    The UnCut

This was a rough week for me. Wednesday was the worse day of my New Year so far. Even after a 3 mile job, I still felt frustration (some internal and others external). Small things can really build up but usually not with me. This time, it got me, I guess I am human. I will reflect and just try to be a better Travis. I can't make others be better but also can't ask anyone to improve when I'm not doing the same. Anyway, I made it through the week. My mom's and sister's birthday were bright spots. Happy Birthday to them both!

I think I am going to apply to be a part of this Scholar program, just need to check and make sure that I meet the qualification. I hope my (potential) letter of recommendation from a well know Dean will help [remember Dr. Wong from my White Coat Ceremony pictures on FB?]

There have been some up and downs with a few friends. Givi, you're the up, bicho :-) As far as the "downs", I will just be positive and say that those people have plenty of room to improve & I look forward to it. While they work on that, I'll just work on me. Two week from this moment that I'm typing this.....I will be in my 1st test of the young semester. And (just maybe) headed to MARDI GRAS. (I think that is spelled correctly). I might go to a birthday dinner tonight, a classmate has the same birthday as my mother. Other than that, this weekend will be about studying and there is no football to distract me, unlike last Sunday.

Time to workout, typing this while my Zune charges on a public computer at the Wellness Center. What should I listen to while doing some cardio? We shall see....

    the Hidden Daily

Nothing interesting at work today. It was a good day but not very eventful. Didn't have to do a lot. I avoided going out of the office again. It's very warm there so obviously I don't want to get out.
Later that day, my friend and I went to get tickets for Avatar 3D, It premiered here today. We're going tomorrow 12am. I have high expectations. We also bought 4 tickets for her brother and 3 of our friends. So we'll have a good company. Got nice seats too... so we'll be comfortable.
Then we went to my place and watched Ice Age 3. It's funny, I mean funny funny. I love it, watched it for the second time and that wasn't the last time for sure.
The heating system worked fine yesterday but there was something wrong with water this time. There was no water coming to the pipes. That's messed up. We wanted some water. Every thing's fine today. I just got out of the shower, feeling good.
Today was a rough one. I had a lot to do. Not much the first half of the day but more and more coming later. I had to leave the office this time and go to one of our construction sights. It was freezing cold. but I survived it... I'm exaggerating a little but it really was cold. I had meetings with customers and workers. Everything went well, then on the way to the office I got a call from the boss asking me to do something in a little time. I took care of it as soon as I walked in. Then we had to do some changes so I got of work later then usually. No complaining though.
My dad is in Batumi for some business. I went over to see my mom. Then I came home. My boss asked me to change some more things, I just did that and sent the email. Tomorrow will probably be busy as well but the evening promises to be good... My attitude is to make it even better and I'll do it. I'm going to meet up with other exchange students (including my friends) like me at a local Steak House (across the movie theater I'm going to later) then I'm going to watch Avatar. I haven't even seen the trailer and I'm not going to. I don't want to have much info about it. Just wanna go in and watch it.
    that's it for today.

    the Hidden Daily

Yesterday was one of the coldest days this winter. I planned thins so that I wouldn't have to leave office for too long. I just had to go to the city council for about 30 minutes to get copies of one of the contracts and to get food nearby.
My boss has been on vacation. I called him a couple of times because there are some things that are supposed to be done but he needs to give me more info. He said he would but he hasn't yet. We'll see today. I'll take care of the rest of work so that nothing is in my way when that comes up.
unfortunately it's cold today as well and I'll have to be in the cold for some time.

    I went home after work.
Then I met up with my friend, he came over for a bit. My other friends came over as well, brought some food... it was a very relaxing evening. My friend is in the rock band and he gave me their new song to listen to.
the heating system was off when I got there, though. My dad turned it on after trying for a few times. It didn't get the apartment warm soon enough so it was pretty chilly.
Then I got on skype for a bit. talked with my friend and my PIC.

    the Hidden Daily

The weather sucks today. It was rainy, windy with snow in part of the city. Unfortunately I had to go to that part and experience the cold. The wind made it so much worse and it was muddy and wet and horrible. I was so glad to get back to office... before doing that I had to take care of one more thing but all I was thinking about was the warm office. :)
not much was going on there. I didn't have much to do. I met with a few customers and that was basically it.
I went home later and had some good food.
My dad is done with putting up some paintings on the wall and he's leaving. They still haven't moved.
It's so windy right now that the roof is making noises as it's ready to come of. It's very loud. I hope I'll be able to get some sleep tonight.

I'll finish with something I'm listening to right now. This is one of my favorite bands. It hasn't been long since I found out about them. I liked them immediately.
    This is their first album.

    the Hidden Daily

I gotta take care of a few things this week. It is related to work, it's necessary to be done but at the same time it's a distraction from more important things at work.
Friday was a good day. No stress. I didn't do much. I watched Book of Eli. It was pretty good. I liked it. I chatted with Igor later and told him he should check it out. You should do the same thing. it's very entertaining.
Yesterday started at work, did a few things quickly and went to the church. My friend asked me to be her son's godfather. I'm very happy about it. So, Saturday was a very special day. We went to the restaurant later to celebrate. We had fun.
    I chatted with T.R.I.V.I. later.
I moved some more stuff today, Had the car for a couple of hours so I drove around, took my uncle with me. He got me some nice jeans. My dad came along as well. They had to see some of their friends for a bit.
    Then I came home.
My friends came over to watch a movie.
We watched The Fourth Kind. It was interesting, not bad at all. It's just not a movie you'd want to see again. It's entertaining but I'll probably forget it right after I post this :).

I had some tea and toasts. I got a lot of candy but I don't want anything right now.

    The UnCut

This past week was very challenging and full of events although it was only a 4 day school week. We are currently in our "Renal/GI" block (the stuff below the chest & above the hips) and it is shaping up to be tough. Anatomy lab is annoying plus Johnny Gill appears to not only have a Rt. Kidney which didn't ascend but also a possible tumor growth that disrupted his GI tract and now everything is shifted out of place. That means I have to spend more time looking at other people's bodies. Also, we've have a new professor teaching this block's Biochem and he gave a lecture that stumped me....his name is Sergey Krupenko ...but over this weekend I think I was able to make sense of most of it. Biochem is really a lot of memorization and knowing what your enzymes do (and what hinders them).

We had an interest meeting for the summer opportunity I hope to be a part of.....and so does about 60 other people, which could make things competitive. I told myself I would finish a much needed cover letter during the week but.....I didn't and so I must get that done today. It will be done. Somewhere in between working out and watching the Saints play today. You know I must cheer for New Orleans.

Allow me to also include a "Song of the Day" in this post.
    Joe Budden- 40/40 (f. Royce Da 5/9)

they just go in on this one, what would you expect?

I chatted w/ Givi and suggest that H.S. drop a little mixtape on us in February. I hope he passes the message.

p.s. I had lunch w/ some friends on MLK day and I got left out of the conversation twice b/c I haven't seen AVATAR!!!! This movie must be classic.

    ......and cut (for now)

    the Hidden Daily

    Yesterday was a good day.
our new coworker got chocolate as a present,  a lot of chocolate. She definitely shared with me. I would say I had too much chocolate but it's never too much. It was really good. I had some tea to go with it as well.

Before we had any chocolate my coworker and I decided to hide it all in our other coworkers drawer. When she came in and realized her chocolate was gone she immediately went to that drawer. lol. Our coworker was the first suspect that came to her mind. He wasn't even in the office. When he came in and got confronted (jokingly of course) he didn't even try to deny. lol.
I did more serious things as well. So, my boss asked me to find good pictures of winter resorts and hotels to use  for a project we want to start. I did image searches on google for the most part of the day. Found several websites but got very few pictures that were good enough. It was pretty tiring, I ran out of search terms. :)
I took care of several other things, met with customers and that was it.
I finally took my laptop to be repaired. They told me it might be impossible to repair but they'll get the hard drive for me.
My friends came over later. We discussed all the random things we could talk about. it was fun, I enjoyed the evening.
I was late to work this morning because I decided to sleep some more :).

    the Hidden Daily

No snow today and I'm glad about it. It was pretty cold but sun came out and it was bright. I had a lot of things going on today. I'm very tired. We were making a sale and I had to prepare a lot of documents, go back and forth, have meetings with customers. I had not time to have a break and get some food so I didn't have any until I got home at 7:30pm. I took a little nap while listening to Noah and the Whale. I feel a little refreshed now. My parents are here putting up paintings on the walls and all the stuff on shelves. Everything is almost ready for them to move in.
I'm definitely not going anywhere today, I'm just going to chill here. Maybe watch a movie or something; whatever comes to mind.
I printed some quotes and black and white pics at work so I'll put those up.
And I got a video to watch and the Leak to listen to.
    peace!

Well, him and IGZ came on Memorial Day Weekend when there was a lot of fun stuff going on. Usually there isn't much going on around here.
My family and I have gone to this show every year since I was little. I LOOVE the Blue Angels. This year was the first time I saw it at the beach.

    The Uncut

3 more people & we have 20 followers!! Let's go, go, go WTP
I'm also 3 wks into this block & plan on making it very productive

So I got the chance to talk w/ a friend I hadn't heard from in awhile. We went to high school together. He heads out for Iraq in the coming months so hopefully we can cross paths before then. I got to try and make that happen. Also, I had a interesting talk w/ G. It was definitely enlightening....for him. Look into it G!!!

Hearing "The Leak" motivated me to actually consider doing another UnWavering project. It won't be done any time soon but it will be worked on which is better than nothing. Also, when I get the chance, I will re-record a few things that are finished and share that. It has 1 song that is going to make you dance!

So far, I am sticking to my resolution of "expect less, do more" (I think). I am also realizing that means going back to the past a little and mending somethings (that I couldn't have done but didn't). Not stressful, I think of it as self-improvement. A better me = a better friend to you! Check out my personality type & what do you think?

"Serious and quiet, interested in security and peaceful living. Extremely thorough, responsible, and dependable. Well-developed powers of concentration. Usually interested in supporting and promoting traditions and establishments. Well-organized and hard working, they work steadily towards identified goals. They can usually accomplish any task once they have set their mind to it"

    This is creepy....and creative

    the Hidden Daily

Yesterday was a very efficient day. Exchanging emails, FB comments with my PIC. We discussed different things, updated each other. I got to watch some interesting videos that made my day. Then I got on skype and chatted with Geden, Igor and then T.R,I.V.I. He got online late but since I didn't have work today I stayed up late so we managed to talk and have a video chat as well. I've got to see a public study room in MUSC from the inside. You're not allowed their without an student ID. I'm very privileged. A lot of silliness was involved of course. We discussed the past, present and the future. Got big plans and I really like that. After a painful process of ending the chat, I went to bed. I had a great sleep. Falling asleep with a smile on your face is a guarantee of that.
I got up really late today. I hang around the house, doing nothing. Then I watched A Serious Man. I didn't like it but watched it anyways. It wasn't bad, some parts were pretty entertaining. Then I got a message on FB from my friends so I went to see them. We went to a cafe. I hadn't seen them this year so it was good. I finally met a friend of my friend who she always mentions but I only met her now. Before today she was like a mythical person. :)
Then my friends from college called and said they were at a restaurant nearby so after my friends decided to go home I went there. I was hungry the whole day so I ate there and realized that I'm very tired and sleepy... and very happy at the same time. I feel good right now.
I got some visuals to share with you. I'll take care of that soon.
I got home a little while ago. It snowed today and I'm far from being glad about it. I have to leave office and go to one of our apartment buildings in the suburbs. It's cold and muddy there when it's rainy, not add snow to that. I'll have to spend some time there... that sucks.
    I hope tomorrow goes well.
I'm out now, I got videos to watch. :)

    Why Visit Jacksonville?

Maybe this will make you consider it...

    the Hidden Daily

So I gotta post about two days again.
I didn't really plan on doing anything yesterday. I was on Skype for several hours. My friends and I have this group conversation that is always open and we always write something there. So we decided to get together. Went over to one of my freinds' apartment. We bought a lot of food and drinks and had a great time; listening to different music, telling stories, eating junk food. Then we got really hungry and has some macaroni and then some fries at 2 in the morning. It was cool.
I got home at 3am. I stayed up for one more hour listening to Peter Digital Orchestra.
I got up early this morning and started the day the same way I finished it. I'm really enjoying this music.
Didn't really have much to do at work today, I manage to have a lot of free time but still did all the work I had planned for today. I had to move my table a little. Now I got our new co-worker sitting next to me. We're like neighbors next door.
It was very cold today. It hasn't been this cold in Tbilisi this winter. There was a little snow but not much, not were I live.
I got home, had some food, helped my parent with moving. They're here right now discussing the arrangement of the furniture downstairs and stuff like that. They're not going to stay here yet. Maybe in a few days.
There's someone I need to call and an email I need to send.
    With that said.
I'll leave you with Peter Digital Orchestra
    Check it out.

    The Uncut

Allow me to do a little backtracking. If you haven't checked FB, let me inform you that I spent the New Year's holiday in New Orleans and it was great! I would definitely love to go back. The Sugar Bowl was going on too, not much of a game though. The Florida Gators really took it to the Bearcats. The city had great food (that was affordable), plenty of tourists to blend it with, and the cops were so friendly :-) I would suggest you all go visit. I am thinking that I could officially do a traveling blog now. I've been to a few places, I think.

Now, all me to go a little farther back....I think November. Rather than talk, I shall just show you with these videos.

    Take 1

    Take 2

    Take 3

    and.....cut!

    The Uncut

I got in 3 workout this week!!!
They've just all come over the past 3 days :-)

So I went to speak with the doctor (anesthisiologist) about a great summer opportunity that I'd like to take part in. While he was giving me a good answer to a good question that I asked....his beeper goes off and he has a "code"! [he is on an emergency team & when he gets a "code", that means someone's life is in jeopardy]. So, he stops in the middle of his answer and says "let's go!". We get up & rush to where the emergency was. When we got there, I stood outside the room and watched the professionals go to work.....a the patient survived, which is great!

I have to watch videos on different healthcare systems across the world and compare them to ours. It is for the "Interprofessional" course that will ultimately make my 4th year a little shorter! But, right now, it is kind of annoying due to the amount of work required. The question I must type a short report on is: what are the five most important considerations in developing a comprehensive health care system? [due tomorrow].

Take a look at one of the videos

I've listened to the "Leak" and I like the creativity I'm hearing. I'm hating about that auto-tune! Treize doing that beat-box beat was fresh, something I've never thought to do (and probably can't do). I got the best of him on Jay-Z's D.O.A. beat though. After vibing to it over the weekend, it motivated me to start working on a project. I downloaded a million beats for it so hopefully there will be enough I like.
[ if you had trouble downloading it, here it is]

    to be cuttinued....

    the Hidden Daily

Started the day at work. Didn't really have much to do there except for the briefing. I spent an hour waiting for it just browsing the web, sent a few messages on FB, exchanged a few jokes with my coworkers. Everything else went fine. Then I left.
As I was walking toward the bus stop I ran into my friends from college (one of them being my classmate as well). It was great to see them, I've missed them. We'll probably meet up soon. I invited them for a cup of tea of course.
Then I made a few calls and went to the Rock concert that was organized to help children with cerebral something. It was cool. I'm not a fan of Rock events but I enjoyed moest of the music. Some really nice bands were present. My friend plays guitar in two of them. He's very good, very talented. I didn't want to miss out and see him do his thing. A lot of loud guitar riffs, provocative lyrics and even smashin-guitar-on-the-floor were involved.
Then we walked a little and I came home.

    Free Flowin Fridayz (Week 42)

The more I am out of school and the more people are getting married and having kids around me and the more I'm home...the more I learn that some people are NOT meant to be parents. There should be some kind of screening process for it.
Go through a blood test or a machine and the results can be something like:
    ~"Will make a GREAT parent"
    ~"Will make a HORRIBLE parent"
~"Great parent to a girl, not a boy"
~"Great parent to a boy, not a girl"
    etc., etc., etc.

Some things that parents do to their kids or in front of their kids are just ridiculous.
Some things they allow their kids to do are even more insane!
What is said to some kids is...OMG, I don't even want to think about it.

Some kids turn out to rebel against their parents, some become just like their parents and other learn from their parents.

The first two are problematic, the last can be relatively healthy depending ont he circumstance. If a kids learns that they want to be firm but not suffocating to their kids because they were suffocated as a kid...that's ok. If they learn that they want to become best friends with their child because their parents were never close to them, that is a good learning experience as well.

The problem is when kids are hurt or physically/psychologically abused as a child and end up projecting that onto their children later on in life. It's like hazing. Just a never ending cycle of horribleness.

Just because a parent got whacked a lot when they were younger doesn't mean they have to do the same to their child. I have a theory. The impatience of parents these days is what's causing the mess of the younger generation. The boy/sex-crazed teeny boppers. The drugs and alcohol at younger ages.

    The rise in ADD/ADHD!

PSA: Parents get you ish together and spend time with your kids. Talk to them, play games..whatever it takes. Take care of them and get to know them. Keep an eye on what TV and movies they're watching...

I'm just really fed up with the way my siblings are turning out as a result of not necessarily just my parents, but my siblings' interactions with kids whose parents haven't raised them properly. So many bad combinations and ways for kids to turn out wrong. SMH, shame. Such a shame.

    the Hidden Daily

I haven't slept as well as last nigh in a long while. I was late to work for 2 hours but it was worth it :).
it's funny that I talk about sleeping in almost every post.
I took care of a lot of things today. We had a meeting with one of the shareholders of the project we work on. That guys is crazy, He's good with numbers and that's it. He's not smart in anything else. So we actually had a very funny discussion/argument/negotiations with him. I had a good laugh because of the subtle jokes my boss made. I can appreciate that.
We have a new employee at work. She's an intern right now but will probably get hired and we're looking for another lawyer.
I went over to my friends house later today. It was the same people who were at the party 2 days ago (except 2 people). We watched the Grindhouse. It was very funny with a lot of blood and infected zombies... well, we actually just watched half of it; Planet Terror.
I got home about 30 minutes ago.
I can't download the EP Treize posted. It just takes me back to the link I start with when I click download. It has happened with Zshare links but I don't know why.

    the Hidden Daily

    Didn't get to post yesterday.
I had a bunch of things to do at work including the sale of an apartment. I took care of that. Everything went fine, finished on time. So, I was pretty busy the second half of the day.
Then I got on skype to see what my friends were up to before the planned party. I received an update on that and then headed home to get some food. Then I helped my dad to move some more things. It seems that this stuff is endless. The more we pack and move the more is left to pack. We did that and then he left. I waited for my friends. They took the different entrance in my building and knocked on somebody else's door. :). When they finally made it here, the party took off. We had a great time. You can check FB for the visuals.
Two of us stayed up for the whole night, that's why we even had time to upload all the pictures and even tag them. Everyone else left at some point and one of our friends was on the couch sleeping.
I was feeling energetic in the morning despite the fact I hadn't slept but then it hit me. I was barely holding my head straight up from time to time today. I made it through though. I got home and took a 2 hour nap. Then had some pizza. Went to see my friend to talk and take a walk for a bit. Now I'm back and I'm very sleepy again. So I'll go to bed soon. I need some rest.

    THE LEAK EP--TREIZE

A Mini-mixtape of the creative process--

Something for you to chew on, till I'm done--- I gotta head out, but you'll be glad you checked this one out.

Edward Sharpe And The Magnetic Zeroes NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

    the Hidden Daily

I'm downloading this video to see if it has sound on my computer. Mediafire refused to work for me yesterday for whatever reason.
I went to work in the morning feeling good. No reason to feel otherwise. Work can't be perfect (or can it?). I finished some of the things I was supposed to be done with a long time ago but didn't get to until today. That feels good. I still need to check in with some of the customers, arrange stuff. Nothing unachievable.
I've been off and on skype and FB the whole day discussing party plans with my friends. So tomorrow is something we call Old New Year. Igor should know about it since both of us come from the same world, we share that like we share the Orthodox Christmas on January 7th. Anyways, we want to celebrate that. We planned to go to a certain event but none of us really wanted to. It was a situation where everyone things that somebody else wants to do it. Anyways, luckily we understood that and gave up on the idea. 4 of us met up later this evening to discuss that. we went to this pub nearby, that went to get some russian food. Looks like I'll be hosting a small party. Just 9 of us. :)
that would be it. I got home... and I'm posting.
I'm listening to Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros right now... I'm listening to 40 Day Dream for the 3rd time and that's just the 1st track on the album. Maaan, I love them.

    the Hidden Daily

the alarm rang an hour later this morning. I don't remember when I changed the setting. Well, extra hour of sleep was good but then I had to rush to work. I actually was one of the first to get there. everyone was late today :)
    the day went by quickly.
my coworker drove me home, I chilled here for awhile. Then I went over to see my parents. help out with packing some more things.
Then my dad and I came over here, brought some of the stuff and met my godfather's wife and her daughter. They came over to see the apt. We haven't seen eachother in maybe 3 years. Did a little catching-up. One of them forgot her cell phone.

This beat on this one is crazy. I love it. My friend just sent it to me on skype so I'll share it with you.

Free Flowin Fridayz (Week 41)-Sunday edition

One of these days I will actually get my posts to be on Fridays once more...

    My fortune cookie today:
"Daydreams may be pleasant, but accomplishments are more satisfying."

    Think on that...

Another topic to think about/comment on:

I don't really have a word for it because it isn't really jealousy, but the emotion one gets when they feel more and more distant from someone they were once close to. All the while another friend is just getting closer and closer to this friend you feel like you are getting less close with. I wouldn't call it quite jealousy, but a nagging itching, pain..feeling thing...
Anyway, what do you do? Try to "get this friend back?" I guess if he/she was that importsnt to you. But obviously said friend (A) is more likely to go to your other friend (B) for advice and to talk to about things. It is kind of sad in a way because I can trace back the beginning of my losing closeness with friend A to a certain horrible semester of my life. LOL. But I guess you live and you learn. One lost friend is not such a big deal in the grand scheme of things when there are so many to be gained and loved. But it is still frustrating to feel like someone can't trust you or can't talk to you about certain things.

Psh. Apparently I am just NO good at developing "deep and meaningful" relationships with another female. It's kind of funny actually. I've tried (mom doesn't believe me of course). But I have, it just never works. And at the same time I'm not really very inclined to doing this. Nor do I think I actually want this or care for it, but I know I am not against it...
I put myself out there for everyone, but if you don't take advantage of what I offer I'm not the kind who will run after you if I don't see any long-term emotional or intellectual benefit in it for me. I can see one female left in my life who has that long-term deep friendship potential. But she is very much like me, which might be why. She might as well be my twin in a way. LOL! Disney, Johnny Depp, gets along with guys better than girls. LOL. good times. The potential is there, but the full development and potential has yet to be seen.

(I'm not saying my other lovely and "dovely" girls are not wonderful, but none of them really just come and tell me things and I am not one to pry. If you won't tell I won't dig. If you throw hints...I will test the waters ask a questions try to dig a bit, but if you push me away then I'll stop.) I'm talking about that mutual friendship. The one where you can talk to the other person about BOTH personal and academic things, not just one or the other.

Hmmm...man this was truly a free flow. I have no idea what I just wrote and I'm not about to read over it. Take it as you will, comment if you like.

    Pay Attention to the Ball

    The UnCut

Three days before I meet with Dr. McEvoy to discuss a few opportunities. One that I hope to be a part of and another that I hope to create along with a very impressive young lady. If it goes well, I might be accomplishing one of my biggest (never done before) goals in the future! Any guesses?

Also, I learned that 3 is never a crowd. It is really a great balance. I learned that b/c I lost 1 person who I will miss this semester. Hopefully, this will be the only and last semester I can say that.

This past week made me realize I need to get things moving with my CV for scholarship applications and summer program opportunities. Too bad I don't have much to put on it right now.

    ....and cut (for now)

    the Hidden Daily

    Slept till 1:30 pm today.
That was great. First thing I did was to help out my dad with something. Then I had to go to the dentist. I'm almost done with that. I spent more than 2 hours there. not the most pleasant two hours of my life.
checking the blog put a smile on my face as I was what T.R.I.V.I. mentioned to me yesterday before skype went crazy. Didn't get to talk with Igor either. I think I resolved that issue though. I'm on skype right now, chatting and it seems to work well. so far so good.
Some more stuff was moved over here today, my parents will move in couple of days as well. The elevator got stuck today and a lot of time was lost while fixing it. workers took some of the furniture using stairs. I'm on the 8th floor.
I was aksed to go out to the bar (we went to on the new years night) tonight but I don't feel like it. not tonight. I usually do it inspite the fact it's Monday tomorrow but I really should go to bed at around midnight to be ready for work. I haven't been able to get enough rest this weekend.

we've always had a cat, a dog or both.

    hmmm
