Free Flowin Fridayz (Week 42)

The more I am out of school and the more people are getting married and having kids around me and the more I'm home...the more I learn that some people are NOT meant to be parents. There should be some kind of screening process for it.
Go through a blood test or a machine and the results can be something like:
~"Will make a GREAT parent"
~"Will make a HORRIBLE parent"
~"Great parent to a girl, not a boy"
~"Great parent to a boy, not a girl"
etc., etc., etc.

Some things that parents do to their kids or in front of their kids are just ridiculous.
Some things they allow their kids to do are even more insane!
What is said to some kids is...OMG, I don't even want to think about it.

Some kids turn out to rebel against their parents, some become just like their parents and other learn from their parents.

The first two are problematic, the last can be relatively healthy depending ont he circumstance. If a kids learns that they want to be firm but not suffocating to their kids because they were suffocated as a kid...that's ok. If they learn that they want to become best friends with their child because their parents were never close to them, that is a good learning experience as well.

The problem is when kids are hurt or physically/psychologically abused as a child and end up projecting that onto their children later on in life. It's like hazing. Just a never ending cycle of horribleness.

Just because a parent got whacked a lot when they were younger doesn't mean they have to do the same to their child. I have a theory. The impatience of parents these days is what's causing the mess of the younger generation. The boy/sex-crazed teeny boppers. The drugs and alcohol at younger ages.

The rise in ADD/ADHD!

PSA: Parents get you ish together and spend time with your kids. Talk to them, play games..whatever it takes. Take care of them and get to know them. Keep an eye on what TV and movies they're watching...

I'm just really fed up with the way my siblings are turning out as a result of not necessarily just my parents, but my siblings' interactions with kids whose parents haven't raised them properly. So many bad combinations and ways for kids to turn out wrong. SMH, shame. Such a shame.

Parenting is more serious than many people (including parents)take it to be. I hope we all realize this and won't let any outside pressure make us thing we are ready for parenthood when are not. Oh, and being a parent is a choice so complaints about the difficulties of it should remain limited.

[when i say choice, i am not talking about the option of abortion]
